In 1992, A Hard Rock Band from Nepal called Cobweb was formed with five members.Cobweb are doing their jobs since early 90’s and still rocking it. In 1993, they released their debut album called Anjaan, which showcased their heavy metal and classic hard rock influences. And then they came up with their 2nd album in 1996 called Cobweb which was big hit in whole nepal.Two songs from the album was still rocking it,called Maryo in maryo and Hodbaazi.They brought the revolution in nepali market in rock sinariyo with their video of Maryo ni Maryo and same time Cobweb was attending music compition in kathmandu vally.They won Sajjan Smiriti Competition (1996) - Award for Best Lead Guitar, Kathmandu Utsav (1996) – First Position, Tuborg Music Festival (1996) – Award for Band of the year, Kathmandu Utsav (1997)- First position, Award for Best Lead Guitar and Best Bass Guitar,Nominated five times for national level awards.Till now Cobweb released seven album which is Anjaan (1993), Cobweb (1996), Rollin’ String (1998), Mercedes Benz (2000), Rock n Roll (2002), Swing (2004) and Namaste (2010). Cobweb did many concerts, International: Hong Kong,India, Japan, Thailand and Australia, National: Above 300 National level concerts are done and musical tour around the country for two times.The best part is, their music never gets old. Now they are with their 7th album ”Project Namaste” which is easily find in the nepali market. Around late 90’s, a few songs from the band Drishty (formed by Iman B. Shah while he was in USA) hit the FM airwaves in a few rock shows. It was probably the first ‘metal’ based ORIGINAL song by a Nepali band to get recorded and played on air. While in USA, Drishty recorded two albums in the bedroom studio setup by Iman B. Shah himself, but sadly, none of the albums were formally released. Mukti and Revival, which consisted one of the most senior rock/blues musicians, also released “Kalanki Ko Jam” in 2000. In the same period, Robin n Looza: also made it big in the rock scene.
